ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Installs new equipment, repairs and modifies existing refrigeration/HVAC and boiler equipment.
- Performs necessary preventative maintenance on al equipment up to and including rebuilding compressors and boilers as needed and records necessary information.
- Assists in the investigation in areas of cost reduction method improvement, quality improvement, yield control and provides suggestions.
- Trains other maintenance mechanics in ammonia refrigeration/HVAC/Boiler operations.
- Possess the ability and willingness to be state licensed, should this be mandated
- Assists other maintenance mechanics in their duties when time permits
- Ability to work with limited supervision and provides feedback to Supervisors on maintenance concerns
- On Call weekends is required as well as the flexibility to work various shifts

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Two years in commercial refrigeration environment/boiler operation and or accredited education preferred
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
- Ability to pass a Prove It test
- Working knowledge of NH3 refrigeration principles and understanding of plant refrigeration systems, electric and mechanical procedures
- Ability to read and understand schematics
- Ability to arc and gas weld (overhead and bench)
- Mechanical ability to analyze production machinery and their function and repair
- Willing to work weekends and various shifts
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
