The Refinery Operator for Newark, CA performs and oversees various refinery plant operational duties within an industrial work environment while monitoring and controlling the refining/processing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.

- Operate and monitor refinery plant equipment and processes according to established procedures and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance on refinery plant equipment and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.
- Monitor and maintain process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical concentrations, to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and control refinery plant emissions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Communicate with other plant personnel and management to coordinate activities and ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Complete necessary documentation, including operating logs, maintenance records, and safety reports.
- Participate in training and development programs to maintain and improve skills.
What does it take to work at Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors Company?
- High School or equivalent required
- 1-3 years in an industrial type environment preferred
- Forklift experience
- Mechanically inclined is a plus!
- Able to follow direction and take initiative
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Must be able to multi-task and work well in a team
- Punctual
- Work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, climb on a ladder, reach, stoop, stand for long periods
