Description

The person selected must be available to work evening and weekend hours.
Examples of Duties
Performs entry-level professional library work, including answering reference questions, doing reader's advisory and assisting the public of all ages in making the most effective use of library services.
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties. A Master's Degree in Library Science and professional experience in public library reference is desirable.
Special Requirement: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
Supplemental Information
Medical: Applicants will be required as a prerequisite to employment to successfully pass a physical examination, including a drug screen, the cost of which will be paid by the City.
BENEFITS: This position does not receive fringe benefits. Pursuant to Federal law, employees in this position make contributions to a Deferred Compensation Retirement Program that are refundable, with any accrued interest, upon retirement or separation.
Selection/Exam Process: The person selected will be expected to perform all the functions of the position.
