Hiring a Linux Administator for a contract role.
As a Linux Administrator, you will be the Tier 1 / Tier 2 support of the Business systems in a 24x7 follow-the-sun model. This will entail alert management, OS troubleshooting, and working to restore service in a robust Enterprise Environment.
- Monitoring of Linux/Unix systems
- Troubleshooting of systems
- Alert Management
- Incident Management
- Working with clients across our Business Units to maintain and restore service
- Automation of activities through scripting and configuration management
- Working with Hardware teams to maintain the physical server estate
- Documentation of processes and procedures for the team
Requirements
- Role will require 1 weekend day every week. Weekend days are onsite.
- Possible Schedules are Tuesday - Saturday
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Red Hat Linux Administration
- 3+ years of Unix/Linux systems administration experience
- Strong core OS troubleshooting experience
- Scripting experience in Shell, Bash, Perl and/or Python
- Virtualization experience in VMware
- Networking knowledge/skills
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-grade server hardware such as Client and Dell rackmount servers
- Experience using remote management interfaces like Dell iDRAC, Client iLO, VMware vCenter/vSphere
- An automation-first mindset
- Incident management experience
- Prior experience in the Financial Service Industry is a plus
- Prior Enterprise experience is a plus
- Relevant certifications are a strong plus
