SUMMARY: The Recycling Specialist has responsibility for grinding plastic materials while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards of assigned work areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load material onto grinder conveyors to break down plastic materials.
  • Monitor the grinding process to ensure that it is running efficiently and effectively.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines for assigned equipment.
  • Sort, package, weigh and label finished product accurately.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain safety standards for assigned equipment and work areas.
  • Maintain company attendance standards.
  • Report food safety issues to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Motorized rolling stock certification preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role does not have supervisory responsibility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seasonally and moderately exposed to wet, humid, hot or cold conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
