The Recycling Operations and Process Manager (ROPM) will work in partnership with the Recycling Plant Manager, MRF Maintenance Mangers, and Operations teams to defines process strategies, goals, metrics, best practices, and measures that are aligned with Rumpke’s organizational goals. The ROPM has ownership of project deliverables and oversight of day-to-day management of their functional team and processes. This position will work with the SAP Program Manager to develop and manage scope, resource schedule resources, and assist in the development of the process and project benefits. Responsible for identifying the impact on and requirements for business processes to support the organization’s "To-Be" vision with the SAP and WR1 Solutions, and for verifying that the business objectives are being met by the team. The ROPM is instrumental in supporting the ongoing growth and success of Rumpke.

Responsibilities of Position:

  • Ensure that all operational processes are efficient, effective, and provide a user-friendly and enjoyable experience to our employees and customers.
  • Monitor and report on process performance, employee satisfaction and drive improvement against business metric's and process health.
  • Oversee process governance, implementation, execution, adoption, and performance.
  • Work closely with Program Manager, Business Process Leads (BPLs), Subject Matter Experts (SME), IT, and other business process owners for process definition and testing to ensure acceptance test plans are designed and executed
  • Responsible for developing, coordinating, managing and implementing multiple aspects of projects and SAP and WR1 development.
  • Validate data migrations from legacy systems in addition to new data requirements.
  • Manage and resolve business and operational issues in an innovative, efficient, and effective manner while focusing on customer satisfaction.
  • Identify performance gaps and launch remedial initiatives accordingly. Communicate to senior management on initiative progress and process performance issues.
  • Interact with senior management, business partners, and vendors to manage expectations, prioritize, and negotiate or influence significant matters. Communicate strategy and objectives to process owners.
  • Review, evaluate, and develop recommendations for enhancements and support of applications. Work with Business Analyst to develop testing scenarios and testing plans for applications. .
  • Define and promote business process changes which continuously increase the maturity of the process and support the ongoing growth.
  • Change Impacts/Readiness: Assess the impacts to process, policies, and behaviors by conducting impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders.
  • Employee Training and Support: Support training efforts by approving the design, development and delivery of the end user training program. Develops and reviews training plans for new application releases or changes
  • Works with the Business Intelligence team to develops tools, analytics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to facilitate efficient recycling, maintenance and scale operations.
  • Participate in the testing, validation and approval of the Recycling Scorecard, Maintenance Scorecard, Income Statement, and key recycling reports in the SAP Analytics Cloud software. Analyzes P&L statements, statistical reporting, and scorecards.
  • Assists in budget planning, resource allocation and schedule to implement process improvements using SAP software.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:

  • Management training certifications in field of improved business efficiencies, contract negotiations, emotional intelligence training or supply chain management.
  • Must meet the requirements of Rumpke’s non-commercial driver’s policy.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow all department rules, procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and take responsibility.
  • Ability to take directions from multiple sources and prioritize accordingly.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft O365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours; overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm
