Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for Student Facility Supervisors - Institutional Student Worker on the Dahlonega campus. The supervisor reports directly to Facility Coordinator and Campus Recreation and Wellness Graduate Assistant. Facility Supervisor must be knowledgeable about building policy and procedures, programs and overall Campus Recreation and Wellness departments. Must have one semester of facility staff experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise facility staff.
• Assist Facility Coordinator in training new staff, conduct monthly trainings, scheduling, evaluations, etc.
• Check-out sports and fitness equipment.
• Respond to emergencies, following Campus Recreation and Wellness Emergency Action Plan.
• Clean and organize equipment and weights in the fitness areas.
• Enforce Rec Center policies.
• Provide spot or assistance to patrons in their workouts.
• Provide customer service to patrons by answering facility and university related questions.
• Supervise fitness areas, gymnasium, track and maintain a safe environment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilties

• Preferred applicants have at least one semester of experience as a facility staff member at the Recreation Center.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of Campus Recreation and Wellness facility policy and procedures, including Emergency Action Plan.
• Have knowledge of and experience with aspects of health, fitness and wellness.

Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a Student Worker.
• The student must obtain CPR/First Aid certification within one month of employment.
• Must have worked for Campus Recreation and Wellness Facility for a minimum of one (1) semester to qualify for the supervisor position.
