Job description

League School for Autism is an award-winning, year-round program dedicated to the education of children on the Autism Spectrum. Our multidisciplinary team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are currently seeking a part-time RECREATIONAL ASSISTANT for our campus in Walpole to start immediately. Starting pay rate is $20.70/hour. Schedule would include afternoon and after-school hours up to 20 hours/week.


Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency. Experience with autism is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CPR and First Aid (training will be provided)
  • Must pass CORI background check.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft and Google Suites.

Director of Neurodiversity and Community Inclusion


Duties and Responsibilities
include the following:

Recreational Responsibilities:

  • Assists APE staff in developing and implementing lesson plans and group protocols for student electives, team sports and clubs.
  • Assists Residential Manager in developing and implementing lesson plans and group protocols for after-school activities for residential students.
  • Assists program staff in leading students in community engagement activities related to IEP goals and self-advocacy curriculum.
  • Assists job coaches in supporting students in community and program-based vocational activities, as needed.
  • Assists program staff and leadership in facilitating student groups including student council and student focus groups. Assists program staff and students in planning and implementing program-wide initiatives developed in these groups.

Other Responsibilities

1. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Neurodiversity & Community Inclusion.

2. Collaborate with program staff to support students in any additional program activities outside of the classroom.
