Minimum Educational and Training Requirements
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in Recreation or a related field; in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education, three to four years of Recreation Programming or facility management experience. Have the capability to plan and teach pottery classes at all levels. Possess the ability to teach other art and craft classes for adults and children and conduct workshops to educate the public on arts and crafts activities. Must possess a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, or walking. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required. The work is typically performed in an office or outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.

Retirement Plan
The Columbus Consolidated Government offers a defined benefit retirement plan to eligible employees who work in General Government and in Public Safety. Employees in the pension plan must meet both age and years of service requirements to qualify for retirement. - Manages and supervises or assists in the management and supervision of the day-to-day operations of an assigned recreation facility or program; plans, organizes, and evaluates daily operations including scheduling.
- Formats and types letters, memos, reports, contracts, and other correspondence.
- Manages, directs, and supervises the day-to-day operations of an assigned recreation facility or program; plans, organizes, and evaluates daily operations including scheduling, the development of policies and procedures, and the articulation of short-and
- Plans and organizes activities and programming.
- Interviews, hires, trains, assigns, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines assigned personnel.
- Markets facilities and programs through special events, educational materials, and public presentations.
- Prepares facility or program registration procedures; conducts registration; schedules teams, classes, and events.
- Collects fees and other revenue for the recreation sports program and rental procedures.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Coordinates the work of program or facility volunteers.
- Responds to requests, complaints, and concerns from the general public.
- Conducts regular staff meetings to review progress, accomplishments, budgets, strategies, and plans.
- Transports and supervises the transport of participants to off-site programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
