Provo City is looking for a part-time Recreation Leader to work with the Special Events team at Provo Rec Center. Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.

Application Review Process: This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received. Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour
Essential Duties:
- Organize, schedule, implement, and evaluate assigned recreational Special Events.
- Develop registration forms, policies, and practices in collaboration with operations staff.
- Establish and maintain schedules.
- Identify and report performance issues to supervisor.
- Provide informational feedback on event participation level and effectiveness.
- Solicit information from program participants.
- Supervise volunteers as needed.
- Assist other staff members and the public as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Any experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the work.
- A valid, lawful Driver License may be required.
- Event-planning experience preferred.
Schedule: Monday through Saturday. Flexible hours with actual schedule to be determined by the hiring manager.
Physical and Environmental Factors: This position requires office work and outdoor recreation work with sun and some adverse weather exposure. May include exposure to high-stress situations or environments , including contact with the public in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances. Requires the ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
Pre-employment Screening: Prior to appointment, applicant will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
