Required Qualifications for Appointment
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES: A familiarity with the theory and practice of play and leisure time activities, the planning of games and the direction of group activities; the ability to organize and supervise social and recreational programs; the ability to develop and maintain the interest of patients or inmates in games and social and recreational activities; the ability to maintain discipline; the ability to devise play and recreational programs to fit particular needs of the school or institution; and related capacities and abilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Such as may have been gained through: completion of twelve school grades; and
Experience: Such as may have been gained through: employment in group leadership, such as playground work, or organized private or public child an adult social and recreational group programs.
Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
At the time of appointment must be physically qualified to perform assigned duties as evidenced by a physician’s certificate.
