The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Division, Prevention Bureau.
This position is in the Prevention Bureau located in the Behavior Health and Developmental Disabilities Division. This position is responsible for managing the allocated funding for Recovery Services from the Substance Use Prevention Treatment and Recovery Services SUPTRS, Block Grant. Responsibilities include working with community and regional-based contractors to implement recovery-based services and address system gaps and needs in the continuum of care for services provided to at-risk populations with a primary diagnosis of substance use disorder.
This position designs, implements, and assesses grant activities, provides technical assistance to contractors, and develops grant activity reports. All activities are based on the principles of evidence-based practices, quality improvement, and community level outcomes. These duties are typically performed through site reviews, performance monitoring, onsite technical assistance, and provider and project relations. This position reports to the Block Grant Section Supervisor and does not supervise.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
- Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment and evidence-based programs.
- Knowledge of family support services for recovery support.
- Knowledge of program development and quality improvement methods.
- Knowledge of grant administration and contract development.
- Meet minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years’ experience in health science, community public health, communications, social science, education, business administration, or public administration or a related field.
- Three years of experience in grant management, local community capacity building efforts, healthcare system development, health system program management, or community / medical health promotion or education.
- Other combinations of related education and experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.50 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2024.
