Recovery Program Therapist I Lydia House
Join the Open Door Mission's team of dedicated staff who are committed to full-time Christian ministry and breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty!
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Recovery Program Therapist will provide direct mental health services, including classes, groups, and individual counseling with a focus primarily on women program students. Provide indirect mental health services through overseeing provisionally licensed counselors and interns if applicable. Maintain all record keeping for the Behavioral Health department.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide mental health services such as individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Connect residents with the appropriate mental health agencies for their specific needs.
  • Provide emergency crisis counseling, problem solving, and de-escalation to residents and staff.
  • Assist in the approval, management, and supervision of mental health intern staff as applicable.
  • Develop short-and-long-term goals for mental health services
  • Develop and enhance job related relationships with individuals and agencies, including colleges/universities and mental health services.
  • Exemplify Jesus Christ daily, sharing the gospel or praying with others as opportunities arise.
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS
  • Appropriate level of licensure recognized by the State of Nebraska to supervise mental health interns
    e.g., Provisional License Mental Health Practitioner (P-LMHP), License Mental Health Practitioner
    (LMHP), License Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP).
  • Experience counseling in a human service organization. Internships accepted.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE...
  • Master’s degree in counseling.
  • 1+ years of experience in a Christian counseling role, or at a social service agency.
  • Experience working with people in crisis (e.g., homelessness, chemical dependency, mentally ill,
    generational poverty, domestic violence victims).
  • Registered art therapist (P-ATR, ATR, ATR-BC)
  • A visible, growing, and committed relationship with Christ, based on knowledge of Scripture and life experience.

DETAILS
  • Job Type: Full-time.
  • Pay Range: $45,590 - $60,000 (Annually)
  • Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. Occasional schedule variances may be necessary.
  • Work Location: Lydia House, Omaha Campus
