Requirements of the Recovery Mental Health Alumni Support Specialist
The Recovery Mental Health Alumni Support Specialist assists the Director of Alumni Services, coordinates and plans activities, meetings and helps to oversee the daily coordination of alumni program.
This role is in a setting that is a primary Mental Health treatment program, knowledge experience and understanding of Mental Health disorders will be key to this position. People with Substance Use Disorder treatment experience will be considered as long as there is some history of Mental Health Treatment experience.
Qualifications
- Experience working in behavioral health, addition and/ or substance abuse setting required
- KIPU knowledge preferred
- Current CPR Certification
- Proof of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training or obtaining
Essential Job Function of the Recovery Mental Health Alumni Support Specialist
- Helps to maintain the facilitation of on-campus Alumni Support meetings and activities between all FHE levels of care where alumni involvement is necessary
- Engages and integrates the outpatient campus levels of care into the FHE Alumni group activities
- Prepares payment requests for social events
- Obtains quotes for special events and group activities
- Meets with detox and residential patients before discharging and introduces them to the alumni and the resource center
- Contributes to the Alumni Weekly and Family monthly newsletter on email database to stay connected with alumni and promote upcoming events
- Represents the program to referral sources, potential patients, and other outside individuals and agencies in a courteous, professional manner
