Supervised By: Direct Supervision by BARN Recovery Justice Program Coordinator
Hours: 40 Hours per week
Basic Purpose: To provide recovery coaching services and program support for the BARN Recovery Justice Program and assist the program coordinator.
Qualifications:
- · All qualifications being equal, preference is given to persons in long-term recovery.
- · A valid driver’s license and access to transportation.
- · Valid CCAR Recovery Coach certificate.
- · Valid CCAR Ethical Considerations certificate or willingness to obtain same.
- · Preferred one year experience of recovery coach practice.
- · Personal characteristics of maturity and professionalism with a sincere desire to work with recovering individuals and the recovery community.
- · An appreciation and affinity for those persons in addiction recovery as well as an understanding of the recovery community.
- · An appreciation and affinity for those persons engaged in criminal justice systems as well as an understanding of those systems.
- · Possess and exercise good public relation skills.
- · Adapts to changing conditions efficiently and effectively.
- · Demonstrates ability to write clear and concise notes, organize and prioritize time, effectively communicate, and works as a team member.
- · Demonstrates interactive communication skills that afford group facilitation and relationship development.
- · Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and internet use.
- · Strong demonstrated written and verbal skills.
Key Result Areas:
- · Provide one-on-one and group recovery coaching to individuals engaged with the Recovery Justice Program.
- · Assist Program Coordinator with BARNs Prosecutorial Diversion Program in collaboration with the District Attorney’s Office.
- · Support and participate in the PACE alternative sentencing program.
- · Assist Program Coordinator in delivering programs and services with Penobscot County Jail and other correctional facilities.
- · Assist Program Coordinator in delivering programs and services with Maine Pre-trial and Treatment Courts as well as Penobscot County Probation and Parole.
- · Assist and participate in programs, training, and services specific to supporting individuals engaged in the criminal justice system
- · Work with local law enforcement agencies to deliver effective outreach and deflection practices
Primary Responsibilities:
- · Provide recovery coaching services to individuals
- · Facilitate groups, activities, and education as needed
- · Collaborate with community partners and internal programs in a timely and effective manner
- · Document activities and outcomes consistent with program requirements and grant agreements
- · Establish and maintain relationships with community partners and internal partners
- · Maintain knowledge of community resources
- · Conduct requested outreach services within the community
- · Provides leadership and works within committees and/or on special projects
- · Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
