In order to continually promote and create innovative products that support our vision we are currently seeking a Reclaim/Flavor/Tobacco Handler 1st shift for the Dothan, AL facility.
Summary:
Under the direction of the Production Manager, accomplish daily tasks associated with reclaim and flavor tobacco operations to support production requirements.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Flavors tobacco for production use by following appropriate directions to ensure proper flavor content, moisture and flavored filler quality. Must be respirator certified.
- Responsible for taking samples to Quality Assurance.
- Loads and unload materials onto or from pallets.
- Responsible for the reclamation of all in-house tobacco.
- Responsible for separating flavored reclaim from White Owl reclaim
- Responsible for helping paste maker with dumping of components in mixing tank for flavor batches
- Conveys materials from work sites to designated area.
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of material moved or handled on daily production sheet.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on proper cartons.
- Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in the handling of materials and products.
- Recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operational efficiency of the department.
- Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department or the Company.
- Assist department supervisor in auditing and maintaining all documents related to EMS/QMS families
- Observe and follow all safety rules and company policies as outlined by Swedish match Cigars.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the Reclaim and Flavor Department.
Qualifications:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, accomplish daily tasks associated with reclaim and flavor tobacco operations to support production requirements.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years' related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy manuals, procedure manuals and work instructions.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate rates and percentages.
