Receving Associate

House of Spices is a deeply rooted brand within the food industry, leading the specialty food and ingredient category for over 40 years. Fast-forward from its start as a homegrown family business, House of Spices has become a middle-market wholesale/manufacturer which includes multiple distribution networks across the country. Although the business has and continues to expand rapidly, the brand is still family-owned and home-based out of the NYC metro area. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team-oriented culture!

Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments in a timely manner
- Unload and load trucks using a forklift or other equipment
- Verify the accuracy of shipment contents and compare them to records
- Sort, label, and stock received items in the appropriate locations
- Maintain inventory accuracy by conducting regular counts and audits
- Assist with order picking and packaging as needed
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow in the distribution center
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred
- Familiarity with operating a forklift and other warehouse equipment
- Knowledge of order picking, packing, and shipping/receiving processes
- Proficiency in using MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) systems or similar software
- Basic math skills for inventory management and record keeping

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
