Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: Greets patients, family members and visitors. Provides direction to departments and areas within the facility. You are expected to smile!

Essential Functions:

• Greets patients, family members and visitors. Provides direction to departments and areas within the facility.
• Performs basic clerical duties including word processing and data entry, filing, faxing, preparing documents, sorting and distributing mail, and operating office equipment. 
• Ensures adequate departmental supply inventory is maintained. 
• Provides reception and clerical support for the department. Receives and directs all incoming calls and relays pertinent messages to others while maintaining accuracy, clarity and confidentiality. Exercises good judgment and discretion in all communications and escalates issues as appropriate.
• Facilitates and handles confidential information, requests, complaints and communications with staff, physicians, and customers. Exercises good judgment and discretion, problem resolution and communication. 
• Identifies and obtains appropriate service authorizations to comply with insurance, hospitals, and government regulations. 

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Diploma/GED required
• One year previous experience in a receptionist role
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills/Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.
