We are seeking a friendly and professional Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our company, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for our clients and visitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Beauty Salon is a small, stylish, upscale hair salon in downtown Birmingham with a positive and fun environment. We are seeking a Part-time Salon Receptionist.

Most days are busy, but there may be downtime as well. In this position, you are the first person the client sees when he/she visits - professionalism and promptness is a must. You will share and train for this position with our current receptionist. As our receptionist you are expected to be on time, have reliable transportation and communicate the need for days off in advance. You may work beyond or earlier than your scheduled hours.

Responsibilities:

• Scheduling appointments for stylists on Meevo Software, computer literacy required.
• Professionally answering and making outgoing calls on a 3 line telephone
• Greeting clients in a professional manner
• Handling cash and credit card transactions
• Washing, folding and putting away towels, capes and robes
• Sweeping hair and keeping salon clean and organized
• Washing dishes as needed
• Gathering garbage and placing it in the dumpster
• Placing, receiving, logging and stocking large product orders
• Feeding parking meters, lunch orders, making bank deposits

Skills:

• Ability to handle a variety of personalities in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and think on your feet
• Pleasant phone voice and etiquette
• Knowledge of a keyboard, PC and calculator
• Computer experience including a Windows database and Microsoft Word
• Basic math
• Ability to be trained to open and close the salon which involves setting and disarming an alarm
• Must be able to work some Saturdays and evenings
• Must be available on a long term basis with flexible hours
• Must be comfortable sitting, standing, walking and lifting up to 15 lbs.
• Professional demeanor and neat appearance

$17/hour 20-30 hours per week - some evenings and Saturdays

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Every weekend
• Morning shift
• Rotating weekends

• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
