Summary (Position Description): The receiving associate is responsible for physically and systematically processing all deliveries.
Reports To: Receiving Supervisor
Status: Full time, Nonexempt
Duties & Tasks:
- Collaborate with purchasing staff to list expected deliveries.
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.
- Unload packages from incoming trucks
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged.
- Notify supervisor and purchasing department of any damaged material.
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, etc.)
- Contact purchasing department if a mistake is identified.
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements.
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.
- Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts.
- Works with the cycle count team to resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Assist with annual physical inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all Bitzer safety policies and procedures.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized area in accordance with Bitzer’s 5S protocol.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Detailed oriented with the ability to perform multiple tasks in fast moving environment.
- Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
- Ability to follow oral and/or written instruction.
- Team orientated and self-motivated.
- Must be able to stand on feet for at least 8 hours/day.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Forklift experience must pass Bitzer certification.
Work Environment:
- This job is performed in a manufacturing environment and proper PPE is required at all times, such as safety glasses, ear protection and steel toed shoes.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
