We are currently recruiting for a Receiving Inspector III. In this position you will be responsible for performing visual, close-tolerance mechanical, and electronic inspection of parts, materials, and assemblies at incoming, in-process, final production, first article, and during Product Development to ensure compliance with requirements and standards. This is a 2nd shift position working 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm. This is a temporary role for approximately 6-8 weeks.

What you will do in the position:

  • Perform complex electro-mechanical inspections for conformance to HME requirements.
  • Identify, report, and quarantine non-conforming material.
  • Perform First Article Inspections to determine conformance to HME requirements.
  • Perform and record results of a variety of test procedures with precision and accuracy.
  • Apply sampling principles to material inspections per HME requirements.
  • Apply external standards to material inspection when required; including IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610.
  • Under guidance, develop inspection plans based upon relevant, articulate data.
  • Under guidance, develop test procedures to determine conformance to HME requirements.
  • Under guidance, develop problem-solving tools and Continuous Improvement techniques for process and inspection improvement.
  • Represent the team and department when required.
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior team members.
  • Accurately perform material transactions appropriate to inspection findings using HME ERP system.
  • Reliably and accurately record inspection results to appropriate quality documents.
  • Perform process and quality record audits to identify, correct, and prevent process deficiencies.

What you will need to succeed in this position:

  • Ability to interpret complex electro-mechanical part and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to perform advanced mechanical measurements with limited supervision.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use and application of measurement tools including CMM, calipers, micrometers, height, pin, thread, and radius gauges, etc.
  • Advanced working knowledge of X, Y, Z coordinate system and GD&T dimensioning.
  • Proficient in advanced application of test methodologies, procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to apply advanced technical mathematics in the course of inspections.
  • Understanding of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems for transacting/moving materials.
  • Working knowledge of ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes.
  • Know and demonstrate the ability to apply ASQ 7 quality tools (Pareto, Fishbone, Flowchart, Control Chart, Check Sheet, Scatter diagrams & Histograms).
  • Know and demonstrate the ability to plot data and recognize out-of-control conditions.
  • Advanced understanding of MS Office applications required.
  • ISO9001 internal auditing experience strongly preferred.
  • IPC 610 Certification strongly preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification strongly preferred.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • BA or BS (college graduate) - Preferred
  • Technical School or Certificate - Preferred

Pay Range: $22.36/hour to $29.81/hour + a 10% shift differential. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for the role. This may vary depending on experience and other factors.
