Job description

Recall & Technical Campaign Manager is responsible for management and compliance of all activities related to delivery stops, recalls and Technical Campaigns, and development of systems and processes to support the activities.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for management of team to support recalls and Technical Campaigns, marketing projects to improve completion rates, event attendance to communicate directly with customers about recalls, and projects to improve completion rates for high profile recalls.

  • Develop, integrate, establish, and monitor operational processes for the implementation of recalls and Technical Campaigns as per regulatory requirements and for the deterrence of the sale of unrepaired vehicles. Ensure such processes are synchronized with the related processes within the BMW Group and act as a liaison between all involved departments within C4-US, FG, and EG-8-US-3.

  • Ensure the appropriate IT systems are developed and implemented as needed to support the deterrence of selling unrepaired vehicles, transparency to the dealers on recall status or delivery stop status. Collaborate with FG to create business requirements to ensure the IT systems support the compliance requirement.

  • Steer the activities after a launch of Technical Campaign or recall with various departments within Aftersales or in other C4-US departments, vendors and with EG-8-US-3.

  • Manage budget of $20M to support programs and activities related to improvement of recall completion rates. 

  • Responsible for meeting with NHTSA as required providing updates on actions taken or planned to improve completion rates for high profile recalls such as Takata. Verify BMW NA complies with NHTSA regulations for recalled vehicles.

  • Manage the definition and implementation of targets, reporting tools and KPIs to monitor the recalls and/or Technical Campaigns until completion. Integrate the tools within the work processes throughout all departments/divisions involved and the Regions, for the timely reporting of issues that could have a compliance consequence. The tools should include communication channels and reporting/communication frequency.

  • Decide activities to be implemented in support of improving completion rates, communicate with Purchasing and Controlling on the selected activities to gain agreement on pricing and selected supplier.

In support of BMW of North America's business objectives, this position requires regular attendance at a BMW office with remote work capability (hybrid). In-office days may be assigned by the line manager.

The pay range for this role is $137,520 - $175,365.

The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 6-8 years of experience in a process driven environment with formal and informal leadership experience

Preferences: 

  • MS Office Programs (Advanced Excel is required)

  • Experience in Cognos, Tableau 

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

  • Project management and negotiation skills
