Reading and Writing Adult Basic Education (ABE) Instructor

1 Part-time Evening ABE/GED Reading & Writing Instructor Needed
CAMBA seeks a part-time ABE/GED Reading and Writing instructor to work in person at its Education Center, located at 955 Flatbush Avenue – Brooklyn, N.Y. The work schedule is 5:30 to 8:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. Candidates must have a B.A/B.S. in education or a related field; Masters preferred. Candidates must have taught ABE/GED/TASC preparation for at least 2 years and must have experience working with low income and/or ethnically diverse populations. For this position, the ability to effectively teach standard English grammar, reading comprehension skills (via Literature, Science, and Social Studies passages), plus informative/argumentative essay writing skills to adults and young adults is a must. Applicants with experience in computer-assisted instruction, who are self-starters, and highly organized are preferred. Compensation: $35.36 hourly
When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.

Status: Part Time (12 hours weekly)
