IN-ROOM DINING ATTENDANT AT THE READ HOUSE HOTEL
The Read House Hotel is currently seeking a personable and energetic part-time In-Room Dining Attendant to deliver room service orders to guests.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As our In-Room Dining (IRD) Attendant, you will deliver exceptional, first-class service along with food and beverage orders to hotel guests in their rooms. You will demonstrate the professional, courteous, and high level of service The Read House provides to all guests.
Our In-Room Dining is available to hotel guests Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and evenings, and Sunday mornings. You must be able to work a flexible schedule with availability for both AM (6:30am-11:30am) and PM (4:00pm - 11:00pm) shifts.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Exhibit a professional and friendly attitude of personalized service to guests and colleagues
  • Provide guests with quick and efficient service
  • Maintain proper standards of server attire
  • Take the order, set up the dining tray, and deliver the food and beverage items at the optimal quality and temperature
  • Exhibit a thorough knowledge of the menu and daily specials
  • Ensure the work area and surrounding area is kept clean, organized, and maintained at all times, reporting any issues immediately to the supervisor
  • Retrieve all IRD equipment from public areas and/ or guest rooms throughout the shift and at the end of the shift
  • Abide by all company and state guidelines regarding food handling and the sales and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires

Job Requirements
Education/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months to one year of restaurant experience preferred
  • TABC Server Permit required within 60 days of hire for PM room deliveries

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and management
  • Proficiency in restaurant POS and inventory applications
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently with strong attention to detail

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
  • Traverse work areas including the complex, guest rooms, and public areas
  • Ascend and descend stairs with varying levels of height
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced environment with changing variables
  • Ability to perform well under pressure to meet the needs of guests, team members and/ or management.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment includes high guest contact; may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, etc.
  • This position requires the ability to work in temperatures of varying degrees
