Project Description
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) requires the services of a qualified contractor to build, test and deploy a new primary website. Planning and design work will be mostly complete, and the awarded contractor will be provided with extensive information architecture and design assets to use in developing the new site.
Position Description
Works with the team lead in establishing the framework of the project and fleshes out the web content and functionalities in accordance with the requirements. Works with WMATA IT to coordinate necessary integration points or required back-end updates to support the new website.
Devises solutions for solving complex customer problems using company or customer furnished computer systems and equipment or commercial off-the-shelf packages. Collaborates with technical staff to understand and to develop new solutions or the resolution of software problems. Diagrams information flow, showing source and distribution of all segments, processing elements, channels, and methods of entering corrections, and data retention requirements. Uses expertise to design develop, code, test, and debug software. May work in one or several areas, such as equipment or software design, engineering evaluation or test, configuration management procedures, statistical analysis and modeling. Applies technical expertise. Develops technical solutions to complex problems.
Required Skills
Minimum of one (1) years of directly relevant experience in delivering web development projects using the ReactJS framework using the Agile software delivery method.
- ReactJS, SASS (Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets)
- HTML/CSS, ES6, Responsiveness (Mandatory)
- Experience in ensuring web code and content is Section 508 compliance to WCAG 2.1 AA Standard (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/)
- Experience in secure coding practices
- Experience working on an Agile project team
