R+D Technician

Title: R+D Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Are you looking to broaden your skills with hands on experience as a R+D Technician? Join our team and experience everything Sigan has to offer!

Reporting to the R&D Supervisor, this position has the responsibility to assist R&D chemists complete their assignments.

Responsibilities:

·         Must be able to read, write and speak English

·         Be able to formulate to perform basic mathematics and use a calculator.

·         Maintain a clean an orderly workstation.

·         Be able to follow instructions both verbally and on a batch sheet.

·         Gain an understanding of basic laboratory equipment maintenance and use.

·         Willing to learn new skills/abilities and apply them on the job

·         Maintain a working knowledge of all Sigan America policies, procedures, and testing requirements.

·         Uphold and model cultural values of dignity and respect.

·         Perform other tasks as required under the direction of the R&D Supervisor.

Qualifications / Certifications:

·         AA Degree

·         Two years of college

·         High school diploma or equivalent

Skills and Knowledge:

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Strong interpersonal communication and
    cooperation skills, problem solving/analytical skill sets and teamwork.

Effort – Physical:

·         A full gambit of physical activity is required including standing, walking, stair climbing, sitting, computer operation, occasional lifting or pulling up to 50 pounds.

Effort – Mental:

·         Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Planning, problem solving, interpersonal communication, mathematics, troubleshooting and investigation. Focus and managing changing priorities is key. Good report writing ability.  Needs minimum of supervision to accomplish complicated projects.  Energetic, enthusiastic and ready to tackle challenges.

Other:

·         Must have reliable transportation.

·         Any other tasks or duties as determined by R&D Supervisor.
