Job Summary
We are looking for a Revenue Cycle Access and Enrollment Specialist to join our team for a third-party Revenue Cycle Management medical billing company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for problem solving, continuous improvement, learning, and adaptability. The candidate will have a strong desire to learn about the healthcare industry/revenue cycle management. The Revenue Cycle Access and Enrollment Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the comprehensive Access and Enrollment process for our customers within payer systems and managing various aspects, including payer portal access, revalidations, documentation verification, and efficient utilization of clearinghouse systems, while staying updated on industry regulations and trends to ensure continuous compliance and efficiency in enrollment practices.
Essential Functions

  • Prepare and complete the enrollment process for providers within payer systems, ensuring compliance with PECOS (Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System) guidelines and requirements for new and existing customers.
  • Facilitate and manage payer portal access for healthcare providers and organizations across various payer networks including Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance.
  • Handle revalidations and updates for enrolled providers, ensuring timely submission and adherence to regulatory timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather and verify necessary documentation, such as Tax Identification Numbers (TINs), National Provider Identifiers (NPIs), and other pertinent information for enrollment purposes.
  • Navigate and utilize clearinghouse systems efficiently to facilitate seamless data transmission and resolution of enrollment-related issues.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payer enrollment procedures and requirements specific to Medicare, Medicaid, and various Commercial payers.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of processes in Confluence and Salesforce pertaining to job activities.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, changes in payer policies, and emerging trends related to enrollment processes to ensure compliance and efficiency in enrollment practices.


Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in ambulance medical billing, customer relations, provider relations or other administrative functions in an operational capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative/support-type role.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in researching and analyzing data.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with competing priorities.
  • Must demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Confluence and Salesforce.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, providers, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
  • Effective multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Experience working with various commercial payers and understanding their unique enrollment requirements is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables related to data management with the ability to identify issues, problem-solve and escalate problems as they arise.
  • Proficiency in understanding and navigating payer portals and Enrollment systems, particularly PECOS for Medicare and Medicaid enrollment.
  • Strong knowledge of TINs, NPIs, and their relevance in the healthcare provider enrollment process.
  • Familiarity with utilizing clearinghouses for data transmission and problem resolution related to enrollment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage and maintain accurate enrollment records.
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulations and policies governing payer enrollment in the healthcare industry.

Salary for this position starts at $60,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
