Job Description

The RBT is responsible for providing direct one-on-one ABA therapy to individuals with autism and related developmental disorders. The RBT works under the direct supervision of a BCBA to implement behavior intervention plans, individualized treatment plans, and collect data to monitor progress.

Responsibilities

ABA Therapy Implementation:

  • Assist BCBA in preparation of client materials, conducting initial assessments and functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify target behaviors and develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs).

  • Provide direct ABA therapy utilizing both intensive teaching and natural environment training, as outlined in the client’s individualized treatment plan protocols.

  • Record accurate data as specified in the client’s individualized treatment plan and provide feedback to the BCBA regarding the client’s progress and areas of need.

  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with client, caregivers, and other team members.

  • Collaborate with the BCBA, caregivers, and other team members regarding the client’s progress and goals.

Professional Development and Ethical Conduct:

  • Stay informed about the latest research, advancements, and best practices in the field of ABA.

  • Adhere to the ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

  • Pursue ongoing education and training.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain RBT credential.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

  • High school diploma (bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

  • One year minimum of working with individuals with autism, developmental delays, or behavioral challenges.

  • Experience with online data collection programs preferred.

  • Efficient written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines in the field of ABA.

  • Must submit to a federal and state background check.

  • Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, crawl, squat, run, or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to push, pull, lift, move, and carry up to 35 lbs.

  • Reliable mode of transportation and ability to travel up to 45 minutes.

  • Current first aid and CPR certifications and willingness to complete background checks.
