The Pactiv Evergreen Pine Bluff Paper Mill is located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, less than an hour from Little Rock in scenic southeast Arkansas. Opened in 1958, Pine Bluff is the largest facility within Pactiv Evergreen and is home to the world's largest gable-top liquid packaging paperboard machine.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, planning, purchasing and scheduling Raw Materials and chemicals in support of mill production reporting to the mill Procurement Manager.

This role is specific to planning, purchasing and ensuring optimal supply and scheduling delivery of Raw Materials at the Pine Bluff Mill. Understanding of market dynamics and research to gain market intelligence.  Specific experience with chemicals, resins and commodity procurement is highly desirable.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule for the safe and efficient delivery of chemicals and Raw Materials.

• Apply all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, safety, environmental, and OEM standards.

• Plan and ensure availability of supply during scheduled shutdowns and long duration outages. This includes negotiating cost, scope and working with transportation providers to ensure adequate supply is met.
• Cross-train and provide backup support for Raw Materials clerk and buyers
• Maintain accurate records of material deliveries and cost variances
• Create and maintain accurate records including the LOB
• Complete material ledger weekly; prepare monthly material ledger and reports
• Manage cost and strive to achieve area availability goals.
• Create and update specific job SOPs as requested; ensure updates are managed routinely.
• Work within a team of procurement, production and management personnel to achieve objectives.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Prepare presentations and lead projects/initiatives as directed.
• Provide on call coverage; work together with the area crew Foreman in response to potential shortages that come up outside of normal working hours throughout the week.

Pactiv Evergreen may require satisfactory completion of certain job based assessments which candidates would be required to successfully complete in order to qualify for the position.

Essential/Required Qualifications:

• Five (5) years or more of experience as a buyer or planner within a manufacturing facility
• Three (3) years or more working within commodity based purchasing is preferred
• A four (4) year degree or higher in a related discipline
• Must demonstrate knowledge and experience in basic planning, scheduling and purchasing
• Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills
• Must be able to troubleshoot issues associated with common equipment and systems
• Must demonstrate professionalism with co-workers, suppliers and management

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Office including Excel, Power Point and Word
• MRP experience
• Prior experience in negotiating with vendors on price, delivery and terms
• Pulp & Paper mill experience
• Good computer skills
