TheRole:Ratings SRE Cloud - Summer Intern
The Team:
This team is part of the Ratings Technology Site Reliability Engineering group (SRE). We provide production support for mission-critical Ratings applications and the underlying containerization platforms on which they run. Our primary responsibility is to perform the operational and engineering tasks required to ensure Ratings applications are secure, performant, and highly available.
The Impact:
As part of global team of engineers, provide production support for Tier-1 mission-critical applications. Troubleshoot application related issues and work with other SRE teams to triage Major Incidents. Contribute to delivery of innovative and highly reliable technology services. Strong focus towards developing cloud infrastructure patterns with reusable automation.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement technical solutions in collaboration with SRE team and business stakeholders
- Identify and resolve application & infrastructure issues before they become outages
- Collaborate with other engineers to triage Major Incidents and provide root-cause analyses
- Participate in Architecture and Development design reviews for new implementation and integration projects
- Analyze & research new cloud technology solutions to meet the needs of the Ratings business

Basic Qualifications:
- Working towards a Bachelors degree in a technical field of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or IT
- Fully matriculated students with anticipated graduation date in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
- Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new things, techniques, and technologies
- The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interest in developing cloud engineering skills:
- Scripting languages such as bash or Python
- Cloud Automation using Amazon and/or Azure cloud APIs
- Windows and Linux operating systems
- Containerization platforms such as Kubernetes
- Use of observability tools to identify root-cause of performance or availability issues
- Agile design principles, values, and practices

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $25 to $30 per hour. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
