This position supports profitable growth for The Hartford's Personal Lines Auto and Home products by delivering high-quality product changes to our customers. We are looking for someone with strong communication, prioritization, and time management skills, with a desire to continuously improve established processes and to creatively solve new problems.
This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, San Antonio, TX, Lake Mary, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Aurora, IL, New York City, NY and Danbury, CT) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.
Responsibilities

  • Independently update rate and rule manuals to reflect proposed product enhancements, compile and submit filing exhibits for state regulators, and partner with IT to deploy changes into market for complex states and other advanced filings (i.e. new product implementation).
  • Complete quality review and evaluate for reasonability every rate review deliverable within established timeframe, and provide feedback to teammates.
  • Lead and contribute to countrywide projects, class plan enhancements or maintenance of intricate product features in cross functional project teams, while proactively providing recommendations to overcome state regulatory obstacles.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Pricing Analytics, Countrywide and State Product Management, IT, Operations, Data Science, Compliance and Legal.
  • Leverage fluent knowledge of Personal Property & Casualty insurance products to influence peers and teammates, and serve as a thought leader more broadly within the organization.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on several multifaceted topics - effectively facilitate all necessary trainings, and own ongoing updates to related templates, tools and guidelines.
  • Use Pricing and/or Subject Matter Expert knowledge to continuously challenge and enhance team capabilities , including process improvements, documentation and quality measures; create training and sustainability plans for successful deployment of process updates.

Experience & Skills
  • Four year degree preferred
  • 3-5+ years of experience in insurance/financial service sector preferred, familiarity with Personal Lines products a plus
  • Self-driven with strong time management skills; effective at prioritizing, multi-tasking and juggling various demands of their time, while meeting critical deadlines
  • Proactive individual with strong attention to detail
  • Independent, passionate and resourceful
  • Intellectually curious, thinks outside of the box, respectfully challenges the status quo, can influence others
  • Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF, VBA a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$72,640 - $108,960
