The Below Wing (Ramp) Lead plays a pivotal role in the efficient and secure operation of ground handling activities. Operating both indoors and outdoors, this position involves loading and unloading baggage, directing aircraft movements, operating ground equipment, servicing aircraft, and ensuring ramp safety and security. The Below Wing (Ramp) Lead II must work in various weather conditions and handle potentially hazardous materials such as aviation jet fuel and gasoline.
Essential Duties:
- Load and Unload Baggage: Supervise and actively participate in the loading and unloading of baggage onto/from aircraft.
- Direct Aircraft Movements: Direct arriving and departing aircraft to ensure smooth and safe operations on the ramp.
- Operate Ground Equipment and Vehicles:Oversee the operation of ground equipment for moving baggage and marshalling aircraft.
- Service Aircraft: Coordinate and manage the servicing of aircraft, including necessary tasks for flight preparation.
- Communicate Effectively: Maintain clear and efficient communication with the flight deck and fellow ground service workers.
- Ramp Safety and Security: Implement and enforce safety and security protocols on the ramp. Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure compliance with established procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Tools and Equipment Used:
- Ground equipment for moving baggage.
- Aircraft marshalling tools.

Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Six months of ramp/airport operations experience.
Other requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license
- Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen and had no recent illegal drug use
- Ability to pass a Federal TSA and CBP Background Check and be badged for airport security
