RA/Med Tech PRN, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am, weekends

Hawthorne Inn of Lakeland is now hiring PRN (with the possibility of future PT and FT openings) and Weekend Resident Aide's and Med Tech's for 2p to 10p and 10p to 6a shifts, that are committed to providing the best life and care for our residents. The basic role of the Resident Aide and Med Tech is to assist with residents activities of daily living in accordance with the established procedures and as directed by the Director of Wellness. We are located at 6150 Lakeland Highlands Rd, Lakeland, FL 33813.

We are a 24/7 facility.

WE ARE OFFERING:

• PRN (with potential to go Part-Time and Full and receive PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, and more )
• 2nd (2pm-10pm), 3rd (10pm-6am) shifts, and weekend availability

Qualifications:

• Weekends will be required
• Med-Tech certification preferred (must provide at time of interview)
• CPR certified (must provide at time of interview)
• High School Diploma or GED (must provide at time of interview)
• Valid Florida id or driver license (must provide at time of interview)
• Social Security Card or valid work permit (must provide at time of interview)

Experience:

• At least 1 year of experience/ability as a Resident Aide and/or Med Tech and the ability to deal tactfully with co workers, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, government agencies, and the general public.

Requirements:

• Must meet mandatory in-service hours by attending in-services provided by the facility
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language
• Must be able to work as a team member at all times
• Maintaining confidentiality of all residents & facility data
• Must be caring, kind and patient with a positive attitude
• Must have basic typing/computer skills

Duties Include but are not limited to:

• Observing Residents
• Engaging with all residents in conversations and activities daily
• Reporting any health issues to the Director of Wellness and Administrator
• Giving and receiving report at the beginning and end of each shift
• Taking care of a resident's personal hygiene
• Setting up of meal trays and serving meals
• Assisting residents & serving nutritional supplements
• Making beds & keeping the residents' space clean and tidy
• Ensuring residents laundry is done for each individual resident
• Transporting residents within the Facility
• Medication Management (only with an active certification, must provide at time of interview)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Walk/Stand – must be able to continuously walk and stand.
• Environment Condition – must be able to perform work both cold and warm situations.
• Sit – sit infrequently.
• Lift – constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds, occasionally 51 – 100 pounds.
• Carry – constantly 0 – 10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds, occasionally 51 – 100 pounds.
• Push – constantly 0 – 10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds, occasionally 51 – 100 pounds.
• Bend – must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips, and spine on a frequent basis; may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
• Squat – must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the know, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.
• Twist or rotate – must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
