Sales / Service Engineer

Job Overview:
The Sales / Service Engineer provides Signal expertise in system design and implementation to solve customer’s needs. This will require travel of at least 50% of the time. Service calls to customers will require you to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
This is a permanent position.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Represent Pintsch North America Inc. in the customer facility by providing technical information, work scopes, troubleshooting, and recommended repairs for Signal solutions.
- Use your technical network to escalate technical concerns and engage remote Pintsch technical resources to solve local customer problems.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels within the customer company.
- Understand applicable industry regulations (FRA / AAR).
- Understand and apply all environmental, health, and safety rules to work safely and actively participate in a positive safety culture.
- Monitor inventory levels against targets and proactively identify changes to safety stocks to support customer needs.
- Follow controllership procedures to maintain Pintsch’s inventory of replacement parts. This may include part ordering, expediting, receiving, stocking, inventory, and delivery.
- Perform material handling (unpack, move, pack) with 100% compliance to safety guidelines.
- Maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in dealing with all customers and external suppliers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ideally, the candidate should be comfortable with basic circuit principles and the fundamentals of railroad signaling.
Desired Characteristics:
- High energy self-starter comfortable interacting with the customer at all levels in a deadline driven environment.
- Familiarity with Engineering or Technical concepts, such as rail and track structure.
- Strong applied Electrical troubleshooting background (AC & DC).
- Communication and Network experience.
- Basic land Survey techniques and some general Civil Engineering concepts
- Project / Construction Management
- Understand Rail Operations
- BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively explain technical issues.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Legal authorization to work in the United States, Canada and Mexico is required.
- Must be willing to travel to customer site as required.
- Willing and able to work on various days in any environment.
- Willing and able to follow railroad site safety procedures.
The successful candidate will also have good verbal and written communications skills, the ability to keep detailed field notes, and most importantly, the ability to listen and properly assess customer needs. The ability to perform basic training functions, both in a meeting and field environment is also beneficial.
Our products range from wheel sensors (also referred to as transducers) and wheel sensor related components to track vacancy detection systems which are used in trailing technology, grade crossing protection, switch zone protection, bridge protection, section protection and for many other types of track protection applications where axle counting technology is better suited due to track or interference related problems.
