Summary

This position is responsible for driving the shuttle bus or van and to provide direction and leadership to rail drivers; Also monitor the drivers to ensure they follow company policy and procedures.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Primary

• Meet with rail management to get the plan for the day. Ensure all of the drivers understand the plan.

• Shuttle team members to the correct vehicles according to the loading plan.

• Ensure drivers move vehicles safely and efficiently.

• Lead the team members by providing direction and any needed assistance.

Secondary

• Communicate company guidelines and standards to team members and ensure they are followed.

• Correct any policy violations or poor performance immediately. Always report any incidents to the rail supervisor and\or assistant manager as soon as possible.

• Stay in communication with other rail team members or departments as needed, to help ensure everyone is working together to achieve the goals for the day.

Tertiary

• Load vehicles onto railcars and perform other rail loader duties as needed.

• Assist other departments as directed by management.

Skills

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience.

• Effectiveverbal and written communication skills

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

• Good interpersonal skills in order to work well as a team

• Good driving skills.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED

• 1 year of experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing

• Lift up to 20lbs.

• Carry up to 20lbs.

• Stand/walk

Working and Environmental Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Must be comfortable driving 3/4 ton van with employees on board

• Exposure to outdoor temperatures and vehicle exhaust fumes

• The position is based in a plant manufacturing/warehousing environment.

• Communication with employees and field partners will be primarily conducted via phone and email.
