This position performs the following functions of a Radiologic Technologist under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist. Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic radiographs and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient care and services using imaging modalities and adhering to radiation safety.
Job Responsibilities

• Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
• Performs other duties as required/requested/assigned.
• Positions patient and selects the correct protocol with the utilization of all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related tasks.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and safety practices.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Actively enrolled in, and in good standing in an ARRT accredited Radiography program.
• Must be a second-year student.
• Basic computer skills.
• Highly motivated with a positive attitude

• BLS required.

• Must be able to operate many types of x-ray equipment, including radiographic/fluoroscopy rooms, and portable x-ray units.
• Must be able to produce quality radiographic exams.
• Must follow the guiding principles of radiation safety "ALARA" (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
• Must use AIDET with every encounter and be proficient with service recovery (Acknowledge, introduce, duration, explanation and thank you).

• Completes orientation and initial assessment of competency successfully by determined due date.
