Job Title:Radiology Technician
Location: Detroit, MI USA
Pay: $50-54 / Per Hour Starting
Job Type: Days or Nights, 8-12 hour shifts | flexible
Radiology Technician Job Overview:
- Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry eligible. If registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 12 months of date of hire. Failure to obtain registry within the designated time-frame will result in termination of the Rad Tech- CT position.
- Must maintain the required hours of continued education. Healthcare Provider certification required. (BCLS). Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the Customer Service Policy.
Radiology Technician Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Radiation Therapist will have the following background and experience:
- Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
- Position is entry level and requires 0-3 years experience actively practicing as an RTT.
- ARRT certification required. Must hold valid state license for radiation therapy.
Radiology Technician Skills:
- Radiation Therapy Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of radiation therapy principles, techniques, and treatment planning.
- Medical Imaging:
- Proficiency in interpreting medical images such as CT scans for treatment planning.
- Patient Assessment:
- Ability to assess patients' medical history, condition, and treatment goals.
- Treatment Planning:
- Skill in developing treatment plans that maximize the effectiveness of radiation while minimizing damage to healthy tissues.
- Equipment Operation:
- Proficient operation of radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators.
- Radiation Safety:
- Adherence to strict safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and oneself from radiation exposure.
