Sigma Healthcare team is currently looking for Radiologic Tech to work onsite at contracted facilities in Meridian.
Shift: 12 Hour , 7:00 PM - 07:00 AM

- Responsible for safe handling of equipment and films.
- Instructs and prepares patients for roentgenographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
- Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure.
- Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
- Makes special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures such as: intravenous pyelograms, intravenous cholangiograms, bronchograms, mammograms, hysterosalpingograms, tomograms, cholangiography, arthrograms, myelograms and hip pinnings in surgery.
- Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and makes radiograms for a variety of examinations.
- Transfers images to PACS system
- Transports patients to and from radiology department to various locations in the hospital when necessary.
- Safely administers IV contrast material, appropriately monitors patients and recognizes early stages of allergic reaction.
- Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
- Assists in maintaining basic records and reports.
- Assists in maintaining files.
- Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel.
- Interacts professionally with patient/family, physicians and co-workers.
- Completes all work before clocking out and leaving. This includes appropriate documentation, paper work, computer entries, area stocking and cleaning.
- Maintains all license as required.
- Maintains emergency equipment in appropriate manner ready for immediate use.
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
- Participates in age-specific competency process.
- Education/Regulatory Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Certified by the State of Mississippi to practice and administer radiation.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Language Skills:
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Additional languages may be helpful.
- Skills:
- Moderate to advanced computer and data entry skills.
- Good communication skills; both listening and speaking.
- All clinical skills associated with that of a Radiologic technologist; positioning, technique, anatomy, IV maintenance.
