Job Description
Radiation Technologist for busy pain clinic.
Principal Job Functions:
Prepares patient for x-ray; explains procedures to patient and/or family; prepares room, equipment and materials as needed.
Positions patient, use C Arm
Practices radiation protection/safety techniques to limit exposure to patient and medical staff.
Adjusts equipment controls; determines proper voltage and exposure time; administers routine x-ray exams.
Observes patient and machine during procedure; reports unusual occurrences to physician.
Documents procedure performed in patient record.
* Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment; maintains inventory and orders supplies.
Performs x-ray quality assurance tests and maintains x-ray quality assurance records.
Reports any problems with x-ray equipment promptly to physician; notifies Office Supervisor of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as directed.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technologist program required. Current certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
