NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes is a growing, commercial-stage company focused on advancing patient care by providing therapeutic radioisotopes and novel radiopharmaceuticals to detect and treat cancer, and customized radiopharmaceutical development services.
The primary responsibility for a radiochemistry intern is to learn in a safe environment. The successful candidate should be ready and willing to take on a diverse set of tasks, under the supervision of trained NorthStar personnel. Examples of these tasks include; plan, conduct, and document laboratory experiments, prepare radioactive samples for analysis, assist NorthStar personnel in analyses utilizing complex instruments, basic radiochemical separations, create and document standard laboratory solutions, and assist in the maintenance and calibration of analytical measurement equipment.
- Assist in the operation, maintenance and calibration of radiation measurement equipment, including but not limited to: HPGe, radio-HPLC, LSC (with alpha and beta counting modes), ICP-MS, gas proportional counters, dose calibrators, survey meters, and wipe test counters.
- Assist in the operation, maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation, including but not limited to: ICP-MS, MP-AES, IC, HPLC, LC, and UV-VIS.Assist in performing radiochemical separations as needed to support product development.
- Assist in performing radiochemical separations as needed to support product development.
- Conduct testing to generate data in support product development.
NorthStar’s Internship program begins May 28 and ends late August. To fully benefit from the program, all planned time off needs to be pre-approved.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Nuclear Engineering, or a related physical science. At least one laboratory chemistry class is desired.

This position is based at our Madison, WI, location and will require periodic travel to our Headquarters in Beloit, WI.
