The Radio Service Technician performs in-shop and in-field installation, repair, and maintenance of a wide assortment of radio and communication equipment.
In this job, you would be responsible for:
- In-shop and in-field installation of a wide assortment of equipment from leading manufacturers like Motorola Solutions, Federal Signal, etc.
- Installation of First Responder radio & phone 9-1-1 dispatching systems including, digital systems, paging, trunking systems, RoIP, microwave, camera and other related communications technologies.
- Installation & maintenance support of in-vehicle radio, lights, sirens & controls.
- Installation of communication solutions in vehicles, in buildings and at radio tower sites.
- Tower building, erection, climbing and support of tower mounted one-way & 2-way communication systems.
- Perform and assist with two-way Radio Service and maintenance
- Miscellaneous shop duties, including receiving, distributing and storing products in designated secure locations and shop maintenance.
- Provide technical support to customers and assist them in resolving radio equipment-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, service reports, and equipment inventory.
- Trains new employees as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You’re a great fit for this job if you have:
- 1-3 years related work experience
- Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier required.
- Experience with Two-way radio equipment preferred
- Experience with vehicle installations of electronic devices preferred
- Experience with low voltage wiring and in-building installation preferred
- Ability to properly use hand tools and instruments related to radio repairs, maintenance, and modifications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Knowledge of vehicle operations in all-weather conditions
- Ability to climb communications towers and work at heights.
- Ability to work with heavy tools and equipment at heights.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds at a time to carry heavy cable.

Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday-Friday with on-call rotation.
