Position Summary:
We are seeking a Radio Broadcast Manager/Producer to join the New Orleans Pelicans and New Orleans Saints! This unique position is responsible for all behind the scenes aspects of our Radio Broadcasts. The ideal candidate has a breadth of knowledge about the NBA and NFL and is looking to utilize their experience in production in this full-time position. This role requires nights, weekends, and holidays.
What you will be doing:
- Build production elements such as commercials, rejoins, billboards, opens, for every Radio Broadcast using Adobe Audition
- Book engineers for every Pelicans road game broadcast, as well as book local engineers for visiting away teams broadcast; handle invoicing and processing for engineers
- Produce and host the New Orleans Pelicans Podcast - ideating themes and topics for episodes, booking guests such as writers, broadcasters, players, and coaches
- Produce and edit the New Orleans Saints Podcast - ideating themes and topics for episodes and content
- Oversee and process invoices for part-time staff and engineers, such as board operators, statisticians, and engineers
- Build and maintain relationships with on-air talent, vendors, and others, while managing the entire process to ensure a seamless broadcast
- Work alongside and partner with internal departments including Corporate Partnerships, Public Relations, Video Production, Digital Media & Social Media
- Manage and Oversee Pelicans/Saints Radio Broadcast Studios
- Attend Team Practices, Shootarounds and Radio Remotes as needed
- Other duties as assigned
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, broadcast, journalism, or mass media is preferred but not required
- Deep knowledge of the NBA and the New Orleans Pelicans
- 2-3 years of audio editing experience
- Audio engineering experience is preferred but not required
- Proficient with Adobe Audition or other audio editing software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Adaptable, agile, and able to problem solve quickly in a deadline-oriented environment
- Maintain professionalism at all times while interacting with players, coaches, and front-office staff
- Detail-oriented and able to respond proactively to feedback
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required based on the schedule of the NBA. This position is expected to work all 82 Pelicans Games.
