Radiation Oncologist For Proton Therapy Program, Open Rank

The Division of Radiation Therapy in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University seeks a board eligible or board-certified Radiation Oncologist to join the Department as an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the University Medical Line. We are particularly interested in candidates who have clinical experience and research in Proton Therapy. This position will be instrumental in the development of the Proton Therapy Program at our Cancer Center in Palo Alto. 

Demonstrated clinical experience in Proton Therapy and interest in collaborating on the development of our new Proton Therapy Program is expected. In addition, experience in multi-modality treatment planning (e.g., PET, 4D CT, MRI), image guided radiotherapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), as well as translational research, is desired. It is anticipated that the successful faculty candidate will be an excellent clinical and translational researcher, committed teacher, and outstanding clinician. We are particularly interested in candidates who have the skills not only to help establish our new program, but also to establish an investigator-initiated research program.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant should have their M.D., completed their residency in an ACGME-accredited program, and have medical licensure in California by the start date.  

The activities of the Department are diverse and include a strong basic science and translational research programs.  The Department is tightly integrated into the medical school and university and leads a Radiation Biology research program within the Stanford Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Assistant: $340K - $370K
Associate: $407K - $437K
Full: $482K - $519K

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
