Job Opening Summary

Under the direction of the clinical physicists and working independently, this position is responsible for assisting in clinical dosimetry in support of teletherapy and brachytherapy of adult and pediatric patients. Works in conjunction with a world-renowned team of dosimetrists, radiation oncologists, PhD physicists, medical residents, physics residents and radiation therapists within one of the nation's top cancer care centers. Plans for adult and pediatric patients with access to exciting clinical trials and revolutionary procedures. Conducts work in a state-of-the-art facility, utilizing advanced equipment for MR Linac adaptive radiotherapy, auto-contouring and auto-segmentation to streamline planning workflow. Participates as a member of the quality team and has an active role in process improvement. Trains and mentors medical residents, physics residents, medical students and radiation therapy students.
Performs work in a hybrid work environment (currently 60% remote).

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of a formal training program in medical dosimetry and board-certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB), or eligible to take the boards. Candidates in need of taking the boards must become certified by the MDCB within two attempts in the first year of employment.
  • For those dosimetrists trained prior to educational requirement changes, certification by the MDCB and an ARRT certification in radiation therapy is acceptable.
  • Preferred candidates should have experience with IMRT, SBRT and VMAT planning.
  • Experience with Velocity image registration, Pinnacle treatment planning and MOSAIQ is preferred, but not required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Must be certified in medical dosimetry by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board, or eligible for certification with receipt of certification at the next available board certification examination period.
