Job description

We are looking for a highly analytical and curious individual to join the Research, Analytics, and Development (RAD) Product & Competitive Research Team . As a RAD Product & Competitive Research Insurance Product Management Analyst your job duties will include researching and analyzing GEICO competitors to understand their products, marketing, pricing, business models, etc. and making recommendations GEICO could learn from these updates. Other duties include creating and supporting multiple types of Insurance Products, assisting different business departments including UW, Claims, Marketing and Advertising to achieve their business goals, interacting with commercial grade database in cloud or local, generating large-scale data and translating it into business values. You will perform data exploration and research & development research independently and collaboratively, work with cross-functional business and technical teams on business and analytical innovation, lead project communication, support model and analytical process production implementation, lead ad hoc analytical research, develop predictive and machine learning models, lead team analysts on data research and ad hoc analysis, and coach new hire onboarding and training process.
Responsibilities:
  • Research new product features and rating variables by performing deep-dive analyses into third-party data
  • Lead solving our core rating variables and non-core rating models
  • Inform underwriting strategy through identifying trends and analyzing segments
  • Standardize and automate the analytics pipeline for use across organization
  • Collaborate with product and pricing managers and make recommendations to leadership to improve competitiveness
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • SAS SQL knowledge
  • Python knowledge
  • Proficient in PowerBI
  • Proficient in Excel v-look-up, pivot tables, charts, and graphing
  • Ability to analyze data using statistical, mathematical or data mining methods.
  • Knowledge of insurance rating products and principles
  • Knowledge of Claims, Underwriting, Marketing or Agent
  • Experience in process control and project management
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operation Research or related quantitative and analytics fields.
