Responsibilities:
· Measure height, width, length, and other proportions.
· Check work along the way to ensure adherence to code and specifications.
· Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
· Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
· Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
· Unloading trucks and staging materials in the field.
· Interpersonal skills and teamwork: You must be able to coordinate your actions with those of other workers on busy construction sites.
· Critical thinking: Installer’s job will require an individual to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions to problems in order to choose the one that is most likely to be successful and cost-effective.
· Ability to work in a production environment where daily production goals are set, evaluated and optimized.
· The Racking Installer reports to the site Foreman, while working alongside operators and other installers, to meet and or exceed goals.
- Working with the operators to unload racking equipment.
- Gathering materials from the laydown yard to deliver them to the work location.
- Gathering the nuts and bolts needed to install the racking, reading, and understanding blueprints/project drawings.
- Working with the racking manager to learn the proper installation techniques and specifications.
- Using power drills/impacts and hand tools to torque down the racking.
- Measuring the distances between racks to ensure proper installation.
- Working efficiently to meet daily goals.
- Performing spot QC checks to ensure racks are installed correctly.
- Work environments vary based on the location and the phase of installation.
- Flexible to work in other work areas when needed – based on qualifications.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
· Basic skills and knowledge of construction; Min. 1 years’ experience in a related field.
· Basic skills and knowledge of mechanical and module installation; Min. 1 years’ experience in related field
· Able to take and follow instructions and/or direction from Supervisors.
· Proven commitment to safety and teamwork
· Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
· Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others.
· Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
· Comfortable working in an environment with high construction equipment traffic.
· Valid Driver's License
· Proof of Citizenship
· OSHA 10
· Candidates must be willing to work 10-hour days, up to 5 days a week.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers.
· Ability to work outside in hot and cold weather.
· Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to read plans/documents.
· Heavy lifting of 50-60 pounds is required. Exertion of up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally may be required.
· Good manual dexterity for the use of common mechanical tools.
· Activities include extended periods of standing, kneeling, and lifting. Must be able to access equipment, piles, and project site. Work environment may change from day to day depending on projects and tasks being accomplished. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required including hardhat, gloves, safety glasses, hearing and foot protection. May be required to travel and/or work out-of-town for extended periods of time.
