Quarry Equipment Operator

Jackson, MO: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking candidates with experience working in a quarry environment who will perform highly complex and difficult construction and maintenance activities by operating a variety of heavy equipment and plant operation duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, bull dozers, rollers, tractor-trailers, dump trucks, crushers, loaders, and more to accomplish difficult or highly complex tasks.
• Prior to operating equipment, conducts routine inspections to identify needed maintenance or repairs.
• Monitors gauges and other indicators to ensure safe operation.
• Performs or requests necessary repairs and adjustments to equipment.
• Assists with repairs as needed.
• Adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, and codes.
• Maintains records of time worked and materials used.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Thorough understanding of practices involved in the use of various types of heavy equipment within a quarry environment.
• Thorough understanding of maintenance and basic repairs associated with heavy equipment.
• Thorough understanding of safety rules and ability to safely operate machinery.
• Superior skill operating assigned equipment safely and efficiently.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating equipment, working in maintenance, or as a groundman, in a quarry environment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment or plant equipment.
• Must be able to work 10-12 hours a day
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 65 per week
