Job DescriptionAHRC NYC is looking to hire a Quality Systems Specialist for their City Wide Programs The Quality Systems Specialist position has an annual salary of between $48.5-$50k. General Responsibilities
This position incorporates essential areas of responsibility related to the oversight of quality of services provided by the department and its training programs. In particular, the position will ensure the implementation, and coordination of quality assurance principles, strategies, and measurement tools that focus on optimal delivery of support to our individuals, as well the successful implementation of EBS trainings around quality of services.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes, evaluates and follows best practices -- on quality related issues in areas of service programming, delivery, and environments.
- Ensures program conformity with all applicable city, state and federal regulations and guidelines, as well as conformity to agency-wide and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensures timely and accurate review of all facility/program-based habilitation records and other safety-related reviews, in accordance with relevant regulations and the EBS quality work plan.
- Ensures and monitors admission and discharge procedures for all departmental programs.
- Evaluates content of internal site reports and assists department managers with strategies for correcting identified deficiencies.
- Coordinates functions and operations between department programs, as well as cross-functional service or project collaborations with other agency departments, as needed.
- Confers with the Assistant Director and borough directors and other personnel on regular basis on quality of service delivery issues, collaborating on identification of best practices and corrective strategies as needed.
- Participates in EBS staff meetings to establish, delineate, and review new and ongoing policies and goals.
- Assists the Assistant Director in addressing general departmental complaints and resolving identified operations problems, as needed.
- Assists the Assistant Director with development and monitoring of EBS trainings and curricula.
- Implements any existing or evolving directives and staff training goals determined by the Assistant Director.
- Participates in projects related to implementation of Electronic Record Systems.
- Conducts actual training sessions, as needed.
- Participates in Safety Committee efforts, safety reviews of EBS facilities and other safety initiatives.
- Works in various systems used by EBS such as CX360, Time and Attendance, Wildwood, Microsoft Teams, and others.
- Participates in projects around design and implementation of quality measures and assessment tools as well as person-centered approaches.
- Participates in systemic audits of programs to evaluate quality of services and compliance and recommends corrective actions, as needed.
- Conducts other ad hoc tasks, as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field of study and at least five years related experience, required.
- Thorough knowledge of all applicable regulations and contemporary knowledge of new developments and changes made in the field of developmental disabilities and autism – as well as agency-wide and departmental policies and procedures -- required.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational skills essential.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, as well as establish and maintain relationships, with colleagues and external professional staff, including ability to make public presentations, be a skilled listener, and demonstrate strong writing skills.
- Must have excellent organizational, multi-tasking and delegation skills, as well as ability to initiate and follow through independently on a variety of projects.
- Demonstrates ability to make independent decisions, show sound judgment in setting of priorities, address potential operational issues, and handle and/or diffuse time-sensitive and/or stressful situations.
- Must be willing and able to travel to service sites throughout the City.
