Quality PPAP Tech - 2nd Shift

Eaton's IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking a Quality PPAP Tech - 2nd Shift. This position is based at our Carol Stream, Il location. The PPAP Quality Technician is responsible for developing and following Quality processes, including assembly, test procedures, and inspection plans. Troubleshoot metrology and process issues to improve New Tool First Pass Yield, drive continuous improvement, and recommend solutions. The hourly rate for this position is $22-$24.50 per hour + a shift differential of $1.00/hr Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you'll do:
• Prepare for and perform dimensional layout reports, maintain, and review data against specification, analyze and format data to be presentable
• Able to offer quality inputs a cross functional team including Engineering, Tooling, and Program Management
• Interpret blueprints with GD&T call outs and perform measurements with various gages
• Ensure the Control plan, PFMEA, and flow diagram meet the customer print requirements (i.e. special characteristics, special testing, etc.)
• Perform GR&R and Capability studies
• Compile all PPAP, ECR, SCR, documents including IMDS Report and review to assure we meet the customer print specifications
• Submit PPAPs/documentation in customer specified platform and maintain PPAP master Samples
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical data sheets, and schematics,
• Quality and Metrology knowledge
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and PDF reader (Word, Excel, Adobe/Firefox, Outlook, etc.)
• Communicate and interact with Engineering, Tool Room and Production as necessary to promote specification compliance and customer PPAP submission,
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to use and test functionality of basic inspection gauges (caliper, pin gauge, height gauge, etc.)
• Strong technical background,
• Detail orientated and organized,
• Associate degree in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering, other technical degree, or applicable experience in manufacturing setting,
• Experience in developing and following Quality processes, including assembly, test procedures, and inspection plans preferred,
• Automotive Industry (preferred).
• Troubleshoot metrology and process issues to minimize down time, drive continuous improvement, and recommend solutions,
• Support root cause analysis,
• Promote and adhere to 5S+ practices,

• Good communication skills both written and oral (English and Spanish preferred),

• The employee is occasionally required to lift to 40 pounds.
• Noise level in plant is moderate. Hearing protection is required in posted areas.
• Safety Glasses and steel toed boots are required
