Education and Experience:
A Master’s degree in Biological science/ Microbiology or food process engineering /with focus to Plant Sciences/Taxonomy/ Economic Botany aimed to global flora distributions a strong Plus. An MBA in Scientific field or a PhD is more preferred and desirable. Must have demonstrated training in cGMP/HACCP/Food Saftey with also experience in handling ISO 9001-2008 versions with exposure to ISO 22000 a plus. Competency to additional certification needs and skills that can lead to new certification to stay competent highly desirable.
Membership an affiliations to Professional agencies/organization a plus
- The incumbent must have 10+ years of total strategic leadership experience at a senior level managing Projects/Regulations/Certifications and Quality management systems of which 5+ years of related experience must be at a dietary/Nutritional/ Food related sectors at a medium/ Corporate level environments.
- Strong working skill and ethics a must with demonstrated accomplishments.
- Must have 2+ years of experience at a Manager level managing Projects and concepts that align with Policies and Programs of the company.
- Working experience to conventional/Organic /botanical products in ushering Quality inbuilt is a plus both to the needs of Blending and Sterilization
- Strong working knowledge of USFDA, Food GMPs (CFR 21 part 111 & 117) SOPs, HACCP, SQF, FSMA/FSVP readiness and compliance, auditing and inspections as well as environmental guidelines, a must.
- Must be able to set up a Quality Management System if required.
- Must have excellent communication and authorship skills in analyzing issues, regulations, Scientific and Technical aspects of the industry and help /support the upper management
- Must lead the Team to advance Food Safety and Quality improvisation through SQF certification as SQF Practitioner for both NJ and NV
- Initiate action plans, monitor and accomplish SQF certification for both units.
- Must be able to identify and build separate Food Safety and Quality Policies and finalize job description to the identified Team
- Must author and finalize a HACCP/SQF Plan initiatives besides a Business Risk/continuity plan with focus to Traceability and recall processes.
- Ensure sound Environmental Monitoring strategies that confer Food Safety
- Scrutinize raw, finished and all contract services to the needs of the company.
- Ensure proper Training needs to the personnel in all aspects of GMP/Food safety
- Auditing, on hand FDA interface and product recall experiences a positive plus.
- Strong understanding of NSF Standards and sanitary design requirements for food equipment and Preventative maintenances of Process and allied machinery and equipment
- Undertake audits and follow up to ensure desired needs are met.
- Experience interacting with the local/ state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Strong capabilities to respond 3rd party audits and inspections with time sensitivity ensuring sustained and continued certifications
- Ensure all GMP, Prerequisite and Food safety controls and programs are firmly established both in principle and practice.
- Exceptional organizational skills working with precision.
- Strong ability to handle complexity and judgment to quickly problem solve and make judicious decisions regarding product quality and safety at all levels
